New Poster Here [03 Feb 2006|12:23pm]

huffko3
To give you a quick history, I have been driving Mustangs all my life. My first one was a 1981 Mustang LX, Second one 1991 Mustang GT, Third one 1992 Mustang GT. And now my present one. My Baby a 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8. I know I wish I could have gotten a GT, but I bought it off a private seller. Dont get me wrong I am completely in love with my car. So below are thumbnailed pictures of it. I hope you all love it.

No more thinking, my pony is broke *cry*

At least one of the head gaskets blew earlier today in a rather large (and actually quite pretty) cloud of pure white smoke from the exhaust! No *bang*, only a little loss of power, a few misfire's then *poof*.

Just waiting on prices and availability now (the problem of living in the UK with a 'stang).

Wondering if anyone knows if the head gasket going can damage yr engine? (1995 V6). and if anyone has scans of the relevant Haynes Manual pages for replacing?

ANY help appreciated here

Fuse Box Reference Sheet Needed [04 Nov 2005|01:27am]

samiitiger
[ mood | annoyed ]

Yesterday after I got off of work, I found out that my dome light and CD player are both out of commission. Before panicking, I figured out that I had blown a fuse... The replacement of the fuse won't be any big deal, except for the fact that I don't know which one is which.

Because of the age of my manual, it's literally fallen apart at the seams... And the pages that I need (259/260), I don't have... So... Can either anyone direct me to a copy of said pages on the web or provide me a copy via a scanned in image?

For reference, I need the 1992 Owner Guide edition, being that I have a 1992 Mustang LX.

EDIT (0146): Found it on KCC's servers and a bit of digging.

Black Sheep Loop [29 Sep 2005|10:31pm]

crosscheck_fox
Here's a video of a run that some of us go on out in here in California. We try to get together once a month with other Mach owners and show how much fun these cars can be for road driving instead of just straight line driving. I didn't shoot the video, but I my car is in a few of the still shots. The wife of the fella that sets this up said we were a bunch of "Black Sheep" because nobody wants to admit to that kind of driving or somesuch. The name sort of stuck and we just keep doing it. Enjoy the vid, and I don't reccommend trying this kind of stuff if you haven't had any genuine "track" time to learn some skid control. One of the white Machs pictured in this video wrecked about an hour and half after the lineup shot on the beach.

We where talking today about favorite cars..And it was funny to her some of these guys talk about there favorite cars..Most of them where the like the coman cars like the new Mustangs, the new Charger, new GTO..But the once that get me are the guys that want a Infiniti or a lexus..

Ok i have no problem with people how buy any of this cars..An i have no problem with most of this cars..what i do have A problem with is people how buy these cars of there mommy and daddy buy them this cars and the think there better that everyone else on the road..

First of the Mustang people please if you don't have A cobra you anent got A Mustang..Sorry A 5.0 is nothing more than A gas guzzler it is not a fast car. When any supped up 4 cylinder is faster than A supped up 5.0 that's not a car.I do love Mustangs just older once 1970 and older.

Ok now the the HIME cars when A car company make A hime Standard equipment.I just have A problem with that all together.

Ok know the Infiniti or a lexus people what can i say.. you are paying 50.000.00 and up for A Toyota and A Nissan..

Oil [13 Aug 2005|03:21pm]
kendar71
My 2001 GT is due for an oil change. I was thinking about going to something like Mobil 1 Synthetic, but I was wondering what kind/weight oil you all were running. The car just turned 17,000 miles, and sees only occasional light street duty for now. It will be garaged for the winter.

an idea i would like feedback on: [06 Aug 2005|05:03am]

mustangracerx
Ok, i had this idea a while ago, and i would like some feedback on it. Ever since i have become a biker, i have been introduced to "the biker wave". It's really kinda cool, every bike that goes by you get a wave from the other rider, and it really doesn't matter what kind of bike that they have. Well, i was giving the thumbs up to a shelby cobra kit car and i thought why can't there be a mustang wave? Us Mustang folks are just as passionate about our cars as bikers are about their bikes, so why not wave to EVERY mustang out their. and every mustang should wave back too. so if you think this is a good idea, let me know, and i will start utilizing it, and if you like it, let's start it, and show everyone that driving a mustang is like being part of a family, where we respect EVERYONE in a mustang.

Question re: 2001 GT [31 Jul 2005|05:46pm]
kendar71
I am new here and I have a question about my 2001 GT. I have seen certain parts (like pulleys) labeled "early '01" and "late '01". How can I tell if my car is considered "early" or "late"? Is there something in the VIN that explains it? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi! I am unloading some stuff to free up some cash for new projects and the fall semester.

I am selling a practically new Magnaflow Magnapack cat-back with less than 4,000 miles on it and a Bassani catted X pipe with only 7,000 miles on it, this system came off of my 2002 GT, also all hardware is included. Another item I have up for sale is a Steeda Tri-ax short throw shifter in great condition, only used it for two months.

I'll sell the exhaust and X pipe together for $600 and the shifter for $100. Need to sell asap!

I found this community a little while ago and thought I'd post my stang here. I have a 2004 dark shadow grey mach 1. 5speed, 9,000 miles, interior up, mostly stock just Chrome bullitt rims so far. I raced her occasionally at a local drag strip but prefer to go to shows. I made it to Carlisle for the all ford nationals this year and Met Scott Hoag. Anyway heres a link to my baby, sorry I didn't post pics on here but they are mostly huge. Check her out...Let me know what'cha think! http://www.gotstang.com/profile.php?prttychromektty&page=1

more shelby pics [09 Jul 2005|03:46am]

mustangracerx
you guys are going to love this: spotted a DIFFERENT shelby concept car, and scored a handful of pics of it. This one is completely different, it is a yellow coupe. It doesn't have the stripes and stuff, but it still looks really sweet. oh, and the hood was popped, and i got some pics of that too. The shelby GR1 was next to it, i grabbed a shot of that too. However, there is one problem, (you guys are going to hate me for this one) You are going to have to wait for the pics because i took them on a brand new roll again, so it might be a week or so before i get them on. I also ran into Scott Hoag at the car show, and for those of you that don't know who he is, you should, he is the man that it responsible for the Bullitt and Mach 1 of a couple of years ago. He was the program manager of Team Mustang, but he left so that he could form the company Mustang Racing Technologies (MRT). Scott is one of the nicest guys that i have met at car shows, and he really knows his stuff, if you need mustang parts that work, i would really recomend his shop. I will get you guys pics ASAP.

in need of my betters' mustang wisdom.... [07 Jul 2005|11:42pm]
archmagi
This is my first journal post as a member ever, so if I don't do something right, please politely and discreetly help me to do better. Disclaimer said, now to the brass tacks. The project at hand: I currently have a 1989 Mustang (LX, I think, no promises) 4 cylinder, this car is Vortech supercharged, has Konig Monsoon wheels, and a rap sheet of mods far longer than my attention span at this wee hour. I am planning to track down a 1968 convertible floor manual transmission mustang and a 4V 351 Cleveland, getting the cleveland to an engine specialist for rebuilding, etc., et al., as well as installing a super cobra jet package in the cleveland. One of the problems I am experiencing with this, is I know that I need some nature of Chevy engine mounts to get the cleveland to fit in the '68. (Yes it will fit with room to spare; I know people that have done it in the past, though they don't remember the engine mounts they used.) I can't find the information on which Chevy engine mounts I need to get. Anyway, get the '68, the 351 CSCJ, and the '89 all together, and basicly do a mod transfer. (I don't think I mentioned that the '89 does high 9-, low 10-second quarter mile times. The reason for the car switch boils down to going with a car that doesn't have to mess with emissions standards, and is of a body style I like, i.e. not a fastback, boss, k-body, et al.) The Cleveland by itself without the Vortech super-charger or the Cobra super jet, will bring the front end of the car off the ground through the first three gears, so I am already preparing to have wheelie bars installed, as well as five-point restraining harnesses for the seats. So, in short: for this project, what Chevy engine mounts do I need, and should I know anything else I may not, about what I might be in for with this project? Any help and advice available out there would be immensely appreciated. Also, I have encountered persons with the belief that a cleveland in a '60s mustang can not be done. I try to not invalidate, but those persons are mistaken. It can, and has been done; I just need assistance putting the concept together.

Help!
Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK that can repair and re-chrome Bullitt wheels? Ok, the couple of kerb scratches were there when I bought her two months ago, but today I took my car for a full valet (just to be really nice to her). After the nice gentleman came back to me after over an hour, Kirsten (said pony) was freshly waxed as well and looking nice and shiny. That was the good thing. As I was inspecting the good work, I noticed the wheels looked a little dull and streaky, then I saw the "etch" lines in them, when I asked the manager what the pre-treatment they used on the wheels was, she responded with "acid, why do you ask?" cue my jaw hitting the floor and a nice polite response of "well your nice acid looks like it has just destroyed my 17 inch chromes!". needless to say I now have to price up the cheapest option to get her back up to standard for their insurance claim, hence the help request!
